System Rebuild

The Process
During a system rebuild your computers hard disk will be reformatted, removing all data/software. This creates a clean disk for us to re-install your Operating System. No old data or applications will be left after this process unless you’ve chosen to go with data back-up.

What can I expect?
When we rebuild your computer we install the latest version of your current operating system. We install all of the latest windows patches and updated driver files specifically for your computer. If you have older applications they may not be compatible with the new security updates or new Windows patches installed on your system. If this is the case, visit the software manufacture’s website and download any updates that maybe available. We only provide service and compatibility testing for Microsoft applications.

Default installs w/ System Rebuild/Restore: (most current versions)

- Operating System
- Internet explorer
- Outlook Express (mail client)
- Internet Service Provider (if provided)
- Word Processing application (if provided)
- Norton Anti-Virus*
- Webroot Spy Sweeper*

All of the latest driver files related to the computer’s hardware will be installed from the manufactures/dealer’s website. i.e. Dell, Compaq

Notice: We cannot possibly reinstall every application that was on your old computer. The time it would take and the cost of doing so would be unreasonable. Instead we provide you with a Belarc Advisor report that lists all the applications that were on your old computer. You can use this report to reinstall the applications you may have used in the past. *This report is only offered if the computer was in working condition to produce the report when received.

What you will need to do:

- Configure any personal preferences settings i.e. wall paper, sounds
- Configure your Internet Service Providers application for internet access
- Install any additional applications you need
- Configure your E-mail

Before returning your computer we test the mail client (outlook express) to make sure it’s functional. You will need to contact your internet service provider to walk you through e-mail setup. Most of the time you need to acquire the name of the mail server, and your user name and password to retrieve mail. Your internet service provider will be able to supply you with this information.

*** Norton Anti-Virus & Webroot Spy Sweeper are only trial versions and will need to be purchased if you want to continue their use.
